My delicious lunch

December 7th, 2007 at 02:52 pm

I made the most delicious lunch for myself today. I used a Boboli pizza crust, a Trader Joe's eggplant spread, then on top of that artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, chopped garlic, goat cheese and oregano drizzled with olive oil. It was soooo good. I was wondering if the cost of the somewhat expensive ingredients exceeded the cost of a pizza at my favorite pizza place. They probably do, but i still have leftover ingredients to make another pizza if i choose. A pizza around here, medium-sized, would probably be about $9.

Did my grocery shopping today and bought some tilapia for dinner tonight (trying to eat more fish), except that i'm still so full from eating half the pizza that i may keep the fish 1 more day.

It's been on the chilly side all this week so i haven't been out walking much for exercise. I plan to make up for it tomorrow, since it's supposed to hit a balmy 42 degrees. I have yet more leaf raking in the backyard on account of some dogwood and crabapple trees that didn't want to let go of their leaves until very late. And it's a good time of year to wade into the thickets and cut back the bittersweet, which threatens to strangle everything if you ignore it.

Before that, though, i'll be dropping in on the VNA to get a free bone density test.

We had a surprise inch of snow today, and seeing that white stuff, i broke down and ordered the Toro snow thrower online at Amazon for $279. That price was $20 cheaper than what i saw it priced for elsewhere. And free shipping, too.

Yesterday H. and i went to lunch at our favorite chinese restaurant and did a little window shopping, then hooked up again that night to see the Bourne Ultimatum, or the last of the trilogy. Action-packed from the moment the movie started, all the way through. Matt Damon was so busy crashing cars and running from the bad guys, in fact, there was absolutely no time for romance, which was a little surprising. That usually seems to be part of the formula.

finally got some nice checks in the mail from some overdue invoices for my freelance work. So now there's just $270 outstanding, and one press release i wrote, a month ago but am still waiting for them to pull the trigger so i can release it.

All of this leisure time and i sure do like it. No particular schedule, nothing too pressing to do. What with Xmas, snow throwers and clothes shopping for the new job, i sure have been spending money, though.
