Log in Your Miles for the March Challenge!

April 1st, 2010 at 10:18 pm

Pretty Cheap Jewelry beat me to the punch. Yes, it's time to log in your total mileage for the month of March, minus your regular commuting miles.

Sadly, I put myself out of the challenge a week or so ago when I reset my odometer to clock mileage on a trip, totally forgetting the Put It In Park Challenge.

So where do you stand?

Is your month's worth of mileage more or less than you expected?

Just for hoo-has, I think I'm going to check my mileage (this time, by writing down my starting mileage) and, without doing anything special, see how many miles I drive. The number should be pretty close to my minimum possible anyway since I consolidate errands as much as I can already.

woohoo, less than 1/2 the national average
I hope this is not the top of the heap for SA'ers

Boo. You could have kept keeping track. Big Grin I just kept loose track - I reset my odometer every time I get gas, (so I notice when my tank gets low). Of course, I could have taken a mileage reading before and after, to be exact, myself. Wink
I am right there with PCJ, my Cali neighbor.

Alrightie--222 miles. But I didn't actually drive, just rode in cars with others or in shuttles. It stacks up fast though! I would have expected to rack up fewer mils since I can't drive here in France . . .until I pass that driving test!

I racked up about 240 miles this past month. That counts my old car and my new car which has 130 miles on it.

My mileage right now is ZERO, but I have to say that living without a car leads me to miss stuff like... um... getting to and from the mountains, playing hockey (you can't easily get your gear to a rink on the bus!), and trips to the grocery. Although I don't miss the fuel and insurance costs, I do miss the convenience. (Also, full disclosure: I did take a couple of cabs this month, so I guess I'm not totally at ZERO.) Good luck on the driving test, SIF!
